Today marks the end of my formal studies as a student of Bath Spa Uni, with the completion of my most recent work Introspection.
​
Introspection combines field recordings captured during the height of the original UK lockdown along with compositions which for me, have a reflective quality. At almost 37 minutes long, this is the longest piece I have written to date and is now available to listen to on Soundcloud.

'Intraspection' is the working title for my next composition.
​
The last few years has been quite a journey, and this work will represent a culmination of my endeavours during the last two years of study.
​
As a result of lockdown, isolation has possibly given many of us too much time to reflect on life, but this title feels like a good creative place from which to start.
I am not yet sure how practical it will prove to include live recordings of fellow musicians, but I am excited to see how this project turns out.

Not a bad way to spend the summer!

A concert featuring new music by fellow master's students from Bath Spa University was due to take place at the Michael Tippett centre on Wednesday 6 May 2020.
​
Given the current lockdown in the UK and the continuing spread of Covid-19, it is looking increasing like this concert will not now take place.
Thoughts and wishes go out to anyone who has been affected by this dreadful disease, and I sincerely hope that it will not be too long before the world is able to recover from this pandemic.
​
I also hope that it will be possible to re-schedule this concert for a later date, so that this group of talented people will have the opportunity for their music to be heard.
